As some of you know, my classic movie reviews can now be found on their own site, “Classic for a Reason.” Here’s the latest review from that site, the Academy Award and Cannes Film Festival Best Picture of that year, “The Lost Weekend.” I hope all you classic movie fans will follow me on that site! The reviews will continue on their usual schedule, the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month (yes, I know it’s Monday, there’s a method to my madness).

Good review, Belinda. Amazing how this movie turned around from a failure to a rousing success.

  Thank you! It’s an incredible movie. Interestingly some people credit the addition of the music score to the turnaround in its success. Not that the acting or story was any less powerful before, but apparently the music added an emotional element that had been lacking.

Ray Milland could play some deep and dark characters, great call on this movie!xo

  Thank you! Yes, he seemed at his best with those characters….although I have an upcoming review with him in a comic role, of course, he did play straight man there!
